Our Story

A New Chapter at a Historic Landmark

For over 70 years, the Missionary Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima has been a place of quiet reflection in Holliston. In 2025, a new energy arrived at the Shrine as our community gathered for its very first Mass in honor of San Lorenzo Ruiz. Today, every Sunday at 1:00 PM, the chapel comes alive with bilingual prayers, traditional hymns, and a shared joy that brings the warmth of the Philippines to New England.

Our Journey: From Vision to Reality

Our ministry was born from a deep desire to find a permanent spiritual home. After several years of moving between parishes and navigating the long silence of the pandemic, our community found its spark again in early 2025 with the arrival of Father Joeven Matugas at the Shrine.

Through the “Bayanihan” spirit of several local families—including the Tarins, Kutzkos, and Rosalans—what began as a shared dream quickly became a weekly reality. Together, we have transformed the Shrine into a regional hub where Filipinos from across Massachusetts and beyond can reconnect with their roots.

Our Hearbeat

Faith and Celebration

We believe that faith is meant to be celebrated.

The Spirit of Bayanihan

As a growing ministry, we rely on the communal unity of our members. Behind the scenes, dedicated volunteers coordinate everything from our liturgical roles to our "Third Sunday" potlucks. Whether it’s help with hall fees or simply bringing a dish to the table, every contribution ensures that our traditions remain free and accessible to all.

An Open Table for Everyone

While our traditions are rooted in the Philippines, our "family" includes everyone. You don’t have to be Filipino or speak Tagalog to feel at home here. Whether you’ve lived in Holliston for decades or are just passing through, we invite you to share in our joy, our music, and our table.
